Minko’s Macs are dedicated to bringing the highest level of Apple Mac
computing hardware products and repair services available in London.
Our committed team boasts some of the best technicians in England.
This positive attribute enables us to focus, specialize and perfect the
skills required to produce outstanding levels of service in sales, as well
as the repairs and maintenance of Apple products.
This has paved the way for growth within our business and has seen us expand to four
locations over a 5-year period.
We have devised a specialized training program for new technicians that
aims to boost the candidates understanding and overall knowledge of
Apple products and systems.
This is introduced in a tier system that
enables new technicians to develop their skills gradually, building
experience and confidence along the way.
Our objective is to share the knowledge gained from our experiences as
technicians to inspire the next generation of techs or “Techies”, as we
call ourselves.
We are committed to assisting our new team members
into enjoying their role and to be dedicated to enhancing their technical
knowledge within our team.
The ultimate aim is to develop a team of strong individuals, who can
envisage establishing a career within the business.
Ideal Candidate
Our selection process only allows the very best candidates to progress
to the higher tiers of the program.
Although prior Apple Mac knowledge
of products, systems and repair processes will be useful for the
candidate, there are other contributing attributes are more crucial in
determining the candidate’s success.
These include the ability and drive to learn new skills with a strong
concept of time constraints and management.
A candidate would have to display the dedication required to push
through and succeed, especially whilst under pressure.
A candidate requires the ingenuity to come up with creative solutions to
complex problems and the tenacity to implement these solutions.
The Process
Our unique approach to the training of successful applicants relies upon
a tier-based system. An introductory module is initially introduced, which
will determine overall knowledge, in order to place the applicant in the
correct tiered training program.
All training initiatives includes sales
processes and product knowledge attainment.
Tier 1:
In this tier candidates will learn the very basics of being a technician,
including basic software skills, building the foundations of product
knowledge. This tier is for candidates with no prior knowledge of Apple
systems, and aims to set the candidate up with the knowledge required
to progress to further tiers.
Tier 2:
In this tier candidates move on to core repairs, this includes Hard drive
and SSD installs, battery replacements, screen replacements, and many
more. The knowledge gained at this level is necessary for all
technicians. If a candidate shows the correct level of skill and
determination at tier 2, then they can either choose to transfer to the
recruitment phase as a tier 2 technician or progress to the final tier.
Tier 3:
In this tier candidates will be shown advanced repairs, including
information on diagnosing and repairing logic board issues. Once this
tier has been completed, a candidate will be given the highest
classification available and is eligible for recruitment under a tier 3
technician.
Once these tiers are completed, we believe our candidates will be
equipped for working independently across the board. However, we do
aim to continually update skills through training, along the journey within
our company.
