Fitted display replacement for the 21.5-inch Retina 4K iMac released in Late 2015. The fixed £400 price includes a quality-tested compatible display assembly, fresh adhesive, labour, fitting and post-repair testing.

Correct model: A1418 / iMac16,2 / EMC 2833. The older listing incorrectly used A1419, which identifies 27-inch iMac families.

Compatibility

  • Device: iMac 21.5-inch Retina 4K, Late 2015
  • A-number: A1418
  • Model Identifier: iMac16,2
  • EMC: 2833
  • Display references: 661-02990 / LM215UH1-SDA1

Display references can vary by supplier and panel revision. We verify the iMac identifiers and the physical panel/cable details before ordering or fitting.

Common screen symptoms

  • Cracked glass or damaged LCD
  • No internal image when the iMac is otherwise operating
  • A dim or partially lit display
  • Backlight flicker, vertical or horizontal lines
  • Image retention, colour distortion or damaged picture areas

The glass and LCD are fused on this model, so physical display damage normally needs a complete display-assembly replacement. Black-screen and backlight faults can also be caused by internal electronics, so we diagnose before condemning the panel.

What is included

  • Model, condition and display-fault checks
  • Quality-tested compatible display assembly
  • Fresh iMac display adhesive
  • Parts, labour, fitting and alignment
  • Display, camera, audio, thermal and sleep/wake testing
  • Adhesive-bond inspection before handover

Installed repair only: Minko’s Macs does not sell this repair part separately. We confirm compatibility and fit the part as part of the service.

How the repair works

  1. We confirm A1418, iMac16,2 and EMC 2833 and reproduce the fault.
  2. Black-screen or backlight symptoms are diagnosed before a replacement panel is fitted.
  3. The unplugged iMac is stabilised and the perimeter adhesive is cut with the correct depth-controlled tool.
  4. The panel is supported and disconnected; required cable or sensor items are transferred.
  5. The correct display is temporarily connected and tested before permanent bonding.
  6. Old adhesive is removed, the surfaces are cleaned, new strips are applied and the display is aligned and sealed.
  7. Final functional and adhesive-bond checks are completed.

Normal turnaround: 5–7 working days after check-in. Parts availability, hidden frame damage or another internal fault can extend this; we will obtain approval before extra paid work.

One-year warranty

The fitted replacement part and its related workmanship carry a one-year warranty. Accidental or impact damage, later liquid exposure, continuing corrosion and unrelated faults are excluded. If we repair an existing liquid-damaged component rather than replace it, that repair to the existing component has no warranty; any new replacement part that we fit still carries its one-year warranty. Statutory rights remain unaffected.

Frequently asked questions

Can only the outer glass be replaced?
Not on this model as a normal service. The glass and LCD are fused, so the complete display assembly is replaced.

Does a black screen always mean the panel has failed?
No. Backlight, power, cable and logic-board faults can produce similar symptoms. Diagnosis confirms whether display replacement is appropriate.

Is the replacement brand-new or genuine Apple?
We do not make that claim unless the individual sourced part and invoice prove it. This service includes a quality-tested compatible Grade A or Grade B display assembly; we never use a grade below B.

Why must the panel number be checked?
Supplier part numbers and panel revisions can overlap. We verify the model identifiers and physical panel/cable details before fitting.

Will my data be erased?
A display replacement does not normally require erasing the iMac, but a current backup is recommended before any repair.
