Terms
Buying from Minko’s Macs
These terms explain our sales, warranty, returns and repair arrangements. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights. The product description and any specific promises made at the time of purchase form part of your agreement with us.
Device condition, specification and warranty
Working devices sold with our one-year store warranty are covered for hardware faults for 12 months from delivery or collection. This includes the working devices advertised with that warranty; the previous 14-day warranty wording does not reduce that promise. Items explicitly sold for spares or repair are excluded from this additional store warranty, and their disclosed condition must be described accurately. Your statutory rights still apply.
The store warranty covers hardware faults during normal use. It does not cover accidental or liquid damage, misuse, normal wear or natural battery degradation, or damage caused by unauthorised work. Software support is not included unless expressly agreed. These exclusions do not remove rights relating to goods that were faulty, misdescribed or unfit for purpose when supplied.
Manufacturer warranties, including Apple Limited Warranty, are separate. The specific coverage and expiry date shown in the listing or invoice apply; an existing Apple warranty does not automatically restart on resale. Any separately purchased extended warranty or device-care membership is governed by its own stated terms.
We supply the specification and accessories stated in your order. If an alternative is proposed because of availability, we will obtain your agreement before supplying it.
Online and distance-order cancellation
For consumer device purchases made online, by telephone or by other distance means, you may normally cancel without giving a reason by notifying us within 14 days after delivery. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods. Contact us through Contact Us with your order reference and a clear cancellation request. Statutory exceptions, where applicable, will be explained before purchase.
Please return supplied accessories and use protective packaging. You may inspect the goods as you would in a shop. Where the law permits, a deduction may be made for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the goods’ nature, characteristics and functioning. Missing original packaging does not by itself remove your statutory cancellation right.
For a valid cancellation, we refund the purchase price and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within 14 days after receiving the returned goods or evidence that they were sent back, whichever is earlier. We do not require you to accept a credit note instead of a refund to which you are entitled. Contact us before returning an item so we can confirm the appropriate return location and arrangements.
Faulty or misdescribed goods
Please contact us promptly if goods arrive damaged, develop a fault or differ from their description. Your statutory remedies, including the short-term right to reject faulty goods where applicable and rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, are separate from our warranty and change-of-mind policy. We cover reasonable return costs where the goods are faulty or misdescribed. In-store change-of-mind returns are by agreement; statutory rights for faulty goods still apply.
Delivery, collection and payments
Online orders are normally dispatched within 1–3 working days, with delivery normally taking a further 1–2 working days using a tracked, insured service. The delivery charge and any product-specific arrangements shown at checkout apply. Collection must be arranged with the relevant store.
Card, Klarna and Pay by Bank options are available through Stripe where eligible. Klarna is subject to status and its own terms. We confirm payment through our payment provider before releasing goods. Deposits and cancellation charges are subject to your statutory rights; any lawful deduction must reflect the circumstances and cannot override a right to cancel.
Repair services
Please keep your contact details accurate and back up your data before handing over a device. An £80 diagnostic fee applies and is waived if the repair is confirmed to be completed in-store. If you decline the repair after diagnosis, the agreed diagnostic fee remains payable, subject to statutory rights. Diagnostics normally take 24–48 hours. Findings and quotes reflect the device’s condition at the time of assessment; a later assessment may require a new agreed fee.
If further diagnosis changes the proposed work or price, we will seek your approval before proceeding. Repairs normally take 5–7 working days, subject to parts and diagnosis. Our No Fix, No Fee arrangement applies where we cannot complete an agreed repair attempt; any separately agreed diagnostic charge will be explained before work begins.
Our additional repair guarantee is 90 days for new non-consumable parts and complete logic-board replacements. Any limitations for used parts, liquid-damage work, older devices or board-level repairs will be explained before you agree to the work. This repair guarantee is separate from the one-year warranty on devices sold with that warranty and does not exclude statutory rights to services performed with reasonable care and skill.
For services ordered at a distance, statutory cancellation rights apply. If you expressly ask us to start during the cooling-off period, a proportionate charge may apply for work supplied before cancellation. A right to cancel a fully performed service is lost only where the required express consent and acknowledgement have been given.
Please collect devices promptly when notified. We will contact you about outstanding balances or uncollected goods and give appropriate notice before any lawful storage, sale or disposal action. We do not treat ownership as automatically forfeited after 28 days. Any charges must have been properly disclosed and must comply with applicable law.
