Restore dependable battery life to a 13-inch 2016 Touch Bar MacBook Pro. The fixed £192 price includes a new tested A1819 replacement battery, fitting materials, labour and post-repair testing.

Is this the correct repair?

  • Device: MacBook Pro 13-inch with Touch Bar and four Thunderbolt 3 ports, Late 2016
  • A-number: A1706
  • Model Identifier: MacBookPro13,2
  • EMC: 3071
  • Battery reference: A1819

A1706 was also used for a 2017 model, so we verify the Model Identifier or EMC before ordering and fitting the battery.

Common battery symptoms

  • Battery life has become much shorter or the MacBook needs frequent charging
  • macOS shows Service Recommended
  • The MacBook shuts down unexpectedly or will not hold charge
  • The computer only runs reliably while connected to power
  • A swollen battery is affecting the trackpad or case

Charging, USB-C port, cable, firmware and logic-board faults can create similar symptoms. We check the charging system before confirming that the battery is the cause.

What is included

  • Model, condition, charging and battery-health checks
  • New tested A1819-compatible replacement battery and fitting materials
  • Professional removal and installation
  • Charging, battery reporting, keyboard, trackpad, Touch Bar and port tests
  • Responsible handling of the removed battery

Installed repair only: Minko’s Macs does not sell this repair part separately. We confirm compatibility and fit the part as part of the service.

How the repair works

  1. We confirm A1706, MacBookPro13,2 and EMC 3071, then record the battery health and condition.
  2. We test charging and power behaviour to rule out the charger, cable, ports or logic board.
  3. The MacBook is powered down, opened and electrically isolated.
  4. The adhesive-fixed battery is removed using the correct controlled process.
  5. The replacement battery is installed, the MacBook is reassembled and all relevant functions are retested.

Normal turnaround: 5–7 working days after the device has been checked in. Parts availability, additional faults or customer approval can extend this; we will contact you before carrying out any extra paid work.

One-year warranty

The fitted replacement part and its related workmanship carry a one-year warranty. Accidental or impact damage, later liquid exposure, continuing corrosion and unrelated faults are excluded. If we repair an existing liquid-damaged component rather than replace it, that repair to the existing component has no warranty; any new replacement part that we fit still carries its one-year warranty. Statutory rights remain unaffected.

Frequently asked questions

Will the repair erase my data?
A normal battery replacement does not usually require erasing the Mac, but every customer should keep a current backup before any repair.

Will a battery fix a MacBook that will not turn on?
Only if the battery is the cause. USB-C charging, logic-board and liquid faults can produce the same symptom, so a no-power MacBook may need diagnosis first.

Is this also the correct service for the 2017 A1706?
Not automatically. A1706 covers more than one model year. Contact us with the Model Identifier or EMC and we will direct you to the correct fitted battery service.

Can I buy the battery without fitting?
No. This listing is a complete installed repair service with parts, labour and testing.
