The iMac "M3" 8-Core CPU/8-Core GPU/2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C Shaped Ports (2023) model features a 4.05 GHz Apple M3 processor with 8 cores (4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores), an 8-core GPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, 100GB/s of memory bandwidth, 8 GB of onboard "unified" RAM, and a 256 GB onboard SSD. Both the RAM and the SSD could be upgraded at the time of initial system purchase, but not subsequently.

This all is housed in a wafer thin aluminum case with flat edges that includes a 23.5" 4480x2520, 218 PPI, LED-backlit, "True Tone" widescreen "Retina 4.5K" display mounted on a thin aluminum stand. This specific model has three two-tone color options -- blue (pictured), green, and pink -- as well as a "classic" uniform silver color. It also has an integrated 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a "studio-quality three-mic array" and a "high-fidelity six-speaker system" that supports Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.

Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports, a 3.5 mm headphone jack conveniently mounted on the left edge of the display, Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax), and Bluetooth 5.3. Gigabit Ethernet was available via a port on the power brick if configured as an optional US$30 upgrade at the time of initial system purchase.

Compared to its predecessor, the "2023 M3" iMac models are highly similar, but pack a newer and faster processor/graphics processor as well as more advanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and the option of additional RAM (if it was configured at the time of purchase at additional cost).

By default, this specific "2023 M3" iMac shipped with a small, color matched aluminum wireless "Magic Keyboard" without Touch ID or a numeric keypad as well as a wireless "Magic Mouse" with multi-touch surface support.
